The Met Office has issued a heat health alert for much of the UK, including London, as temperatures as high as 29C are forecast in the coming days.
The alert means the high temperatures are expected to impact the health and social care sector as there may be an increase in mortality, particularly for over 65s or those with health conditions. However, even younger age groups may need treatment or support.

The alert, which is aimed at health and social care professionals, warns that temperatures in healthcare settings may cause overheating and impact the ability to provide care.
There is a yellow alert - the lowest of three - for London, the South East, East Anglia, the South West, East Midlands, West Midlands, and Yorkshire. The London alert is in place from tomorrow (Friday, June 23) at 9am until Monday, June 26, at 9am.
