Richarlison and Ange Postecoglou

Richarlison could reportedly leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer just a year on from making the £60m switch from Everton.

The Brazil international has failed to make an impact at Spurs so far, with Ange Postecoglou now tipped to axe him from his squad.

Indeed, in 35 appearances for Tottenham, Richarlison has scored just three goals and made four assists. Clearly, he has failed to live up to his price tag.

However, in fairness, he was not the only player to disappoint for the London club in 2022/23.

A poor showing from the majority of the squad saw them finish in eighth place in the Premier League table - their worst season since 2008/09.

Now, Postecoglou is set to make several new additions as he looks to bolster his squad. For instance, Leicester City duo James Maddison and Harvey Barnes are thought to be on their radar.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if Richarlison is sold to fund their transfer business.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is thought  to be keen on a reunion with the Brazilian. So, the Spanish giants could make an offer for him this summer.

According to Football Insider, Postecoglou is keen to sell Richarlison as he looks to add more goals to his Tottenham side.

The report notes that Spurs have 'major question marks over the 26-year-old's fitness and goal output.'

This is despite Richarlison being in good form with Everton before he made the switch to London.

In 152 appearances for the Toffees, he scored an impressive 53 goals as well as making 14 assists.

In fact, in 2021/22, his goals played a major role in keeping Everton in the Premier League.

Also, Richarlison was outstanding playing in the 2022 World Cup for Brazil, scoring three and making one assist.

Nevertheless, he doesn't seem to be in Postecoglou's plans for the future. So, it will be interesting to see if any concrete offers come in for him.

Interestingly, Richarlison might not be the only attacker to leave Tottenham this summer.

As by noted by TEAMtalk, Son Heung-min is subject of interest from Saudi club Al Ittihad, who have just signed Karim Benzema.

They are reportedly willing to offer Spurs £51m for his services. And, they are preparing to offer the 30-year-old a a huge contract worth ?30m (£25.6m) per season.

That works out at an incredible £492,000 a week, far more than the £192,000 per week Son currently earns in North London.

With that in mind, if they do lose Son to Al Ittihad, they may have to think twice about selling Richarlison this summer after all.
