Son Heung-min has delivered an emphatic update on speculation linking him with a £50m move to Saudi Arabia, while a fellow Tottenham teammate is also courting interest.
News of Son potentially heading to Saudi Arabia first broke a fortnight ago when reporter Ben Jacobs stated the South Korean was a transfer target for 2024.
However, ESPN subsequently reported a move for the 30-year-old is in the process of being accelerated, with Al Ittihad hoping to land Son 12 months early.
Indeed, the reigning Saudi Pro League champions were described as 'ready to move' for the potent forward right now. To lure Son away from north London, a huge contract worth ?30m (£25.6m) per season is reportedly in the works.
That works out at an incredible £492,000 a week - far more than the £192,000 per week Son currently earns in north London.
Tottenham too would be handsomely rewarded in the deal, with ESPN adding a a bid in the region of £50m was being prepared.
Son will turn 31 in July and endured his worst goalscoring season for Tottenham since his maiden campaign at the club in 2015/16. His marks of 10 in the Premier League and just 14 in all competitions were disappointing to say the least.
Regardless, Son remains a firm fan favourite and hopes are high the more attack-minded Ange Postecoglou can revitalise the South Korean next season.
The Evening Standard stated Tottenham have no interest whatsoever in losing such an influential player. Now, according to Son himself, Spurs cans fan breathe a sigh of relief.
In quotes carried by Sky Sports, Son addressed the Saudi speculation while on international duty with South Korea.
Son told reporters while in his home country: "I've many things to do in Premier League.
"Money doesn't matter to me now, and the pride of playing football, to play in my favourite league is important. I'll prepare well when I'm back to Spurs.
"I want to play more for Tottenham in the Premier League."
For this summer at least, Son will not be moving to Saudi Arabia. However, fellow forward, Lucas Moura, might be.
The veteran Brazilian will leave Spurs as a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.
The Standard concluded their article by stating Lucas is 'also the subject of interest from Saudi clubs'.
