Chun-Li is one of the most iconic characters in the Street Fighter series and has one of the best critical arts in the game. She is a fast and agile fighter who uses her lightning-fast legs to deliver powerful kicks and combos. With a fairly high skill ceiling, she is exceptional in the hands of a very good player.

In Street Fighter 6, she has a new moveset, making her a fun and versatile character to master. Here's everything to know to get the hang of her basic kit and special abilities to begin the journey to master one of the most iconic characters in the game.
Chun-Li's main strength is her speed. She is extremely mobile, allowing her to move around more flexibly. Chun-Li can use her walk speed to bait an opponent into attacking - creating openings that range from different unique attacks to mixing up her offensive and defensive playstyle, depending on the situation.
There are a handful of strategies that you can utilize to win different types of engagements with your opponent. Water Lotus Fist to strike an overhead opponent, Falling Crane to cross the enemy upwards, Yoso Kick to switch from different jumping trajectories, and the Drive Rush to extend the combos and deal significant damage to an enemy.
Chun-Li has a special stance called Serenity Stream, which allows her access to more moves and combos. It is one of the most important key characteristics of Chun-Li as it further creates more zones of confusion in the enemy and throws unexpected combos to bring the fight in your favor.
Chun-Li can enter the Serenity Stream stance by performing a quarter-circle back motion and throwing a punch. In this stance, she gains access to use six different moves. These are:
Move Name
Usage
Orhid Palm
To hit down low
Lotus Fist
To hit overhead
Snake Strike
To slide forward
Senpu Kick
To gain distance
Tenku Kick
To launch an enemy into the air
This stance can be canceled by pressing any attack or using the Spinning Bird Trick, allowing the player to either extend combos or change up their strategy and shift to a different fighting style. As intimidating and powerful as it sounds, it comes with huge downsides.

In the Serenity Stream stance, Chun-Li is vulnerable to all kinds of hits. It even reduces her mobility significantly. Ranged projectiles like Ryu's Hadouken can counter her while she gets in the stance, making it harder to time using the stance effectively.
Chun-Li also has a relatively high skill ceiling to master her, which makes it quite tricky for new players to understand her kit - especially when it comes to mixing up different attacks and combos to win the duel. Some players may get caught off guard while Chun-Li's Kikoken and Spinning Bird Kick is on cooldown.
All and all, Chun Li is one of the best characters in Street Fighter 6, but she requires a high level of execution and knowledge to perform her optimal combos and mix-ups, especially with her Serenity Stream stance. She also has a very slow jump, which makes her vulnerable to anti-air attacks.
