Alexis Mac Allister looks likely to leave Brighton this week

Alexis Mac Allister has shared an end of season message with Brighton fans on social media ahead of a potential summer move to Liverpool.

The 24-year-old midfielder scored 12 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for the Seagulls this season as he helped them qualify for European football for the first time in the club's history with a sixth-place Premier League finish.

Mac Allister also helped Albion reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup, while he lifted the World Cup in December in Qatar with his native Argentina to make it a season he'll never forget.

His strong performances throughout the season have naturally attracted suitors ahead of the summer transfer window, with Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi admitting Mac Allister might have now played his final game for the club.

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the midfielder and, according to a recent report from Football Insider, have agreed to meet his release clause, which could be between £55million and £60million. Personal terms have already been settled according to the report, which will see him pocket a contract in excess of £150,000-per-week.

Now, Mac Allister has shared a message on social media looking back on his season and what he helped both Argentina and Brighton accomplish.

Speaking on Instagram, he said: "It was an honour to represent Brighton & Hove Albion FC in a World Cup but to become the first-ever World Cup winner for this club it will be unforgettable (hopefully you will have more), as it will be your welcome after it.

"3 years and a half ago, we were fighting for relegation and today, after so much sacrifice, suffering and work, this group will be in the history of this club for becoming the first time this club will play Europe League.

"We achieved it all together and that's why we have to feel very proud. VAMOOOOOS."
