Young Indian opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was in sensational form in domestic cricket last season and then performed the same way in the IPL 2023 for the Rajasthan Royals, earned his first India call-up. The 21-year-old left-handed batter travelled to England with skipper Rohit Sharma on Sunday night to take part in the ICC World Test Championship final after being named as one of the three standby players. Jaiswal, who created history by scoring the fastest fifty in IPL history earlier this month when he reached the landmark in just 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, wasn't initially included in the touring party, but after it was revealed that Ruturaj Gaikwad wouldn't be available for the marquee clash due to his wedding in the first week of June, Jaiswal was named as his replacement.

And on Sunday night, he took to Instagram to post a picture of him with skipper Rohit Sharma from inside the flight to confirm his selection in the Indian team as a standby player and that he is travelling to England for the summit clash of WTC 2023 against Australia.

The youngster, who scored 625 runs in IPL 2023, shared a couple of pictures and captioned them, "Off to England ??for the World Test Championship Final with the one and only @rohitsharma45.#WTC #WTCFinal #YBJ19 I trust I believe."
