Drew McIntyre's future with WWE remains uncertain despite a report earlier this week indicating he had signed a new deal.
In March, it was reported that McIntyre's contract with the promotion would be coming to an end, and the two sides are not close to reaching a new deal. It was reported at the time that McIntyre and WWE are apart on money and the nature of his on-screen character. The two-time WWE Champion has not been seen on TV since WrestleMania 39, where he unsuccessfully challenged for the Intercontinental Championship. McIntyre suffered an injury in the weeks leading up to the two-night show but insisted on competing at WrestleMania.
Earlier this week, a rumor sprouted online stating that McIntyre and WWE had reached an agreement that the Scottish Warrior had signed. The details of this 'deal' were unclear as it did not specify how much he would be earning, or what changes (if any) would be made to Drew's on-screen presentation.
On Twitter, Wade Keller refuted the rumors that Drew has re-signed with WWE, saying that they are "not true." Keller made it clear that McIntyre has not re-signed with WWE at this time.
Initially, it was believed that Drew McIntyre's contract with WWE would expire by the end of 2023, but that isn't the case. Instead, McIntyre's deal will expire in early 2024, but before WrestleMania 40. There is always the possibility that there could be time added to the end of his current contract due to his current absence from the ring due to his injury. Despite speculation, there is no chance that McIntyre will be eligible to appear at the upcoming AEW All In event in London, England.
