An abnormal bulge in the major blood vessel (aorta) which carries blood from the heart to rest of the body. It can occur any where in the aorta and may be in a tube form or round shaped.
Usually, the bulge does not cause any symptoms.
If the bulge ruptures, it can cause massive internal bleeding which has a high mortality rate.
The bulging occurs when the wall of the artery weakens.
The condition is often detected during routine examinations and imaging tests may be recommended to confirm the condition.
