Arsenal saw a significant number of players wave goodbye to the north London club during the previous summer transfer window.
Figures such as Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and Bernd Leno all left on permanent deals. In contrast, others such as Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette left on free transfers.
However, some names left Arsenal to join other clubs on loan, such as Nicolas Pepe and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, among others.
One of those other players, that we feel Mikel Arteta may now be regretting moving out of the club, is Nuno Tavares.
After spending just one season at the Emirates Stadium, having arrived from Benfica in the 2021 summer window, the left-back has now joined Marseille on loan for this campaign.
In eight appearances for the French club, across Ligue 1 and the Champions League, the 22-year-old has scored three goals for his temporary side.
As well as that, his overall league appearances have earned him an impressive season rating of 7.51/10, making him the highest-rated player at Marseille, according to WhoScored.
This backs up why journalist Matt Spiro said on his official Twitter page that the "dynamic" Arsenal man is "wreaking havoc" on the pitch.
Bearing in mind how the Portuguese full-back has made more tackles in the attacking third of the pitch for Marseille (4) than any other player at the club and currently has more shot-creating actions (18) than any of his current teammates, this highlights how much better he is suited to playing in the attacking areas of the pitch.
Taking into account how Arsenal have two left-backs in their squad in the shape of Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko, but only have one predominant left-winger with Gabriel Martinelli, it could have been the better option for Arteta to not loan Tavares out this summer and instead keep him in the squad as an attacking back-up option for the Brazilian.
