Everton currently have several players in their squad that have gone over the age of 30 and therefore offer a lot of experience to the team.
One of those players is Andros Townsend, who joined the Toffees on a free transfer from Crystal Palace during the 2021 summer transfer window.
Since then, the winger has gone on to make 27 appearances for the Merseyside club across all competitions, during which he has scored seven goals and delivered four assists.
With the 31-year-old's deal at Goodison Park set to expire in the summer, it seems as though the Toffees may have already identified a player that could be their ideal heir for Townsend.
According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Everton have an interest in signing Ferencvaros winger Adama Traore.
After scoring 25 goals and delivering 16 assists in 61 appearances for FC Sheriff Tiraspol, the 27-year-old joined his current club during the recent summer transfer window.
The attacker has since hit the ground running in hot form for his new club by scoring 12 goals in 14 appearances for the Hungarian side.
He even showed how capable he is of performing on the European stage as well by scoring a goal in Ferencvaros' recent 3-2 win over Trabzonspor in the Europa League.
Hailed as a "superb" player by journalist Bocsak Bence, it's easy to see why Everton have an interest in signing Traore, who now has 40 career goals to his name.
Taking all of this into account, if the Toffees and Kevin Thelwell are able to snatch the Ferencvaros star away from Ferencvaros either in January or the next summer transfer window, this could be a very smart move from the Goodison Park outfit and solve the potential issue of having to find a suitable replacement for Townsend if he ends up leaving when his contract runs out.
