First trailer drops: Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey reprise their roles as Giselle Philip and Robert Philip for the Enchanted sequel aptly titled, Dienchanted

It took nearly 15 years, but Disney is finally delivering on the sequel to its hit live-action/animated musical Enchanted (2007).

And on Friday, Disney released the official trailer for the aptly titled film Disenchanted, which features original stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel and James Marsden.

The new additions include the likes of Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jayma May.

Fifteen years after her happily ever after, Giselle (Adams), husband Robert (Dempsey), and his daughter Morgan (Baldacchino) move to a new house in the suburb of Monroeville.

'I know change can be scary but it also can be exciting,' Gisele says off the top of the teaser, which Robert responds, 'If I learned anything from meeting princess on a billboard is that sometimes you just have to take a leap.'

Inspired by his words of wisdom, Gisele gleefully shoots back, 'Let's start our new life,' over top  of images of the family driving into their new neighborhood.

'Pretty soon this whole place will feel like home, you'll see,' she adds as the couple shares big beaming smiles of reassurance.

While hoping their new house and life will soon feel like home, they arrive to find the residence in a far different shape than expected; one that she described as 'a fixer upper.'

It turns out, though, their new community is overseen by Malvina Monroe, who has nefarious intentions for the family.

When problems begin to arise, Giselle wishes that their lives were the perfect fairy tale, but the spell ends up backfiring.

'I wished for a fairytale life and it's gone all terribly wrong - or terribly right,' Giselle declares, while whisking off with her stepdaughter, in an effort to save her family and her homeland of the Kingdom of Andalasia before the clock strikes midnight.

The original Enchanted followed the story of Giselle, the animated princess-to-be from Andalasia who was magically transported to the real-life world of New York City, where she meets and falls in love with lawyer Robert Philip (Dempsey).

Written by Bill Kelly and directed by Kevin Lima, it went on to become a bonafide hit, grossing $340.5 million on a $85 million budget.

The sequel had Adam Shankman in the director's chair working from a script by Brigitte Hales.

'To work with everybody again after 14 years is just really exciting,' Dempsey told Variety in April of 2021. 'We need some escapism right now. We need those romantic comedies and those musicals to get people out of the doldrums that we're in.'

During the interview, Dempsey confessed that he's actually singing in the film for the very first time.

'I've never ever sung publicly - for a reason. So bear with me,' the actor, 56, said of his singing debut. 'I hope the fans embrace it. But they've set me up for success and the lyrics are really fun. The numbers have really great choreography. And the premise is going to be interesting.'

Disenchanted premieres exclusively on Disney+ on Thursday, November 24.
