The Terminal List season 2 gets a hopeful update, as lead star Chris Pratt begins contract negotiations. Debuting on Amazon Prime Video in July, the action thriller follows Lieutenant Commander James Reece (Pratt), a Navy SEAL seeking to avenge the murder of his family. Going down this path of revenge, Reece uncovers dark secrets that he might not have been prepared for and finds his own life - as well as those closest to him - put in jeopardy.

Though it received largely negative reviews, The Terminal List made a big splash with audiences, landing the number one spot on Amazon Prime's list within two weeks of its premiere. It was also watched for 1.6 billion minutes, across its eight episodes, per Nielsen's data. Given that the show is based on a series of books by author Jack Carr, fans have wondered whether the hit thriller might return for a second installment.

Now, as reported by TV Insider, Pratt is currently negotiating about reprising his role. This bit of information was revealed, as Carr has given an optimistic update on the status of The Terminal List season 2. The author, who is an executive producer on the Amazon adaptation, said in an interview that there are plans for the show to continue. If it moved forward, it would focus on the "True Believer" novel which is the second of the Terminal List books. Carr's quote is included below.

Chris wants to do it, and Amazon wants to do it. But it could all fall apart. It would be an eight-part series based on the second book True Believer. We shall see.

Carr also said that The Terminal List season 2, if it happened, would lessen the workload on Pratt. The author talked about how demanding the role has been for the actor, praising Pratt for carrying the show and not complaining. Carr talked about how, unlike in The Terminal List season 1, he's written a few subplots that could take the focus off James Reece and ensure the protagonist wasn't present in every scene. That's potentially encouraging news, as it was observed in many reviews that the thriller fails to take advantage of its intriguing supporting cast.

That supporting cast includes, among others, Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, Riley Keough, and Jeanne Tripplehorn. These actors have a bevy of memorable roles between them, and they each bring undeniable heft to what was seen as an otherwise familiar tale of stone-faced revenge. The Terminal List season 2 could do something different by focusing a bit more on Keough, for example, as Reece's wife, Lauren, and showing how Reece's penchant for vengeance affects those around him.
