The Masked Singer fans have called for Rita Ora to be dropped from the show over her lockdown rule-breaking.

Rita came under fire for hosting her 30th birthday party at posh London restaurant Casa Cruz in Notting Hill during lockdown in November.

She issued a grovelling apology and vowed to pay a £10,000 fine, but some believe she shouldn't be allowed to stay on The Masked Singer because she broke the rules.

One viewer tweeted: "Rita Ora should have been removed from #TheMaskedSinger after knowingly breaking lockdown rules! Great example Rita!!!"

Another posted: "When is Rita Ora being dropped from The Masked Singer? Lockdown is for everyone."

A third wrote: "I like Rita Ora, but the more I hear about this case, the more I think she needs to be given the boot from The Masked Singer.

"Her stay on the show should be regarded as untenable by ITV . An example needs to be set."

Another agreed: "Twice Rita Ora broke the rules, ITV should remove her from The Masked Singer, she clearly doesn't care for people's wellbeing so why should we care to see her on TV? Make an example!!"

The Masked Singer was recorded prior to Rita's rule-breaking.

The Mirror has contacted Rita Ora's reps and is awaiting comment.

ITV declined to comment when contacted by The Mirror.

Rita's party on November 28 was branded "one of the most egregious and notorious" breaches of lockdown rules during the pandemic by police.

The comments were made at a Kensington and Chelsea Council licencing sub-committee hearing on Thursday, where the Metropolitan Police urged the local authority to revoke the licence of the west London restaurant where the party had been held.

Rita then broke more coronavirus rules when she failed to self-isolate when she returned to the UK after performing a gig in Egypt on November 21.

In a public apology, Rita said she was "deeply sorry" for the "inexcusable" party which she insisted was "spur of the moment".

She wrote: "Hello all, I attended a small gathering with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday.

"It was a spur oft he moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK.

"I'm deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk.

This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.

"I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep us all safe.

"Even though this won't make it right, I want to sincerely apologise."
