The Rams will be without their best corner and their best running back against the undefeated 49ers on Sunday.
Sean McVay told reporters Friday that Gurley will be the one to decide his availability for the game.
"He knows his body as well as anybody," McVay said. "I think we all know what a tough, elite competitor he's been in terms of the things that he's been able to push through. So really it's about that collaboration, that communication and then making sure we do, number one, what's best for him. And he'll always be able to communicate that honestly with us.
Gurley was a surprise addition to the injury report this week as he had a solid game with 51 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a 30-29 Thursday loss to the Seahawks last week.
"It kind of caught us all off guard," McVay said of Gurley's injury. "You think it's your typical bumps and bruises, and then it ends up being a little bit more than that."
Talib has been held out of practice this week so it was expected he would miss Sunday's game at 4:05 p.m. ET against the 49ers.
