Inquests into the deaths of a mother and daughter pairing murdered in Great Waldingfield last year have closed, after the coroner ruled that the public interest was "adequately served" by earlier criminal proceedings.

Peter Nash, 47 was sentenced to life in prison last month, after being found guilty of murdering his wife Jillu, 44, and their 12-year-old daughter Louise, in September 2022.

On Friday, inquest proceedings for Mrs Nash and Louise were formally suspended at Suffolk Coroner's Court.

Senior coroner Nigel Parsley stated that, with all the facts having been established during Peter Nash's criminal trial, there was no further public interest in pursuing the inquests further.

Post-mortem examinations carried out by the Home Office last year concluded that Mrs Nash had died due to asphyxiation, as a consequence of compression to the neck.

Meanwhile, Louise's cause of death was determined to be a result of a stab wound to the abdomen.
