A Splatoon 3 player purchased ¥512,000 ($3,574) worth of shares in Nintendo, so they could take their concerns directly to the executives at a shareholder's meeting.
This was originally reported by NStyles (thanks VGC) who attended the meeting. NStyles reports that this fan asked a loud question where they complained about the lack of customisation options for male characters compared to their female counterparts in Splatoon 3.
As the rant continued, Nintendo's president Shuntaro Furukawa tried to cut the person off, saying their question was too long, but this proved ineffective at stopping the rant. After they concluded, Furukawa is quoted as saying "Thank you for your interest in playing our game. We appreciate your valuable opinion."
Twitter user Haruikatako has identified themselves as the "ranting fan." They revealed they bought shares in Nintendo after the company failed to respond to their letters about concerns regarding customisation.

Despite being told by their parents to not get involved, Haruikatako raised funds to purchase shares in Nintendo, even re-selling a Nintendo Switch OLED console to help in their crusade.

In their initial Tweet, Haruikatako triumphantly reported on their antics at the meeting, saying "At the Nintendo shareholders' meeting, I complained about the current cold treatment of Splatoon's boys."
"Halfway through, I was told 'There are other people I want to ask.' so the second half took a lot longer than planned, but I managed to tell them!" they continued.
Attached to the tweet are the statements Haruikatako claims to have shared at the meeting. Needless to say, they appear quite lengthy.
A similar situation occurred last year when a shareholder meeting attendee raised the idea of a new F-Zero game. At the time, Nintendo development team general manager Shinya Takahashi said "We cannot tell you if there are any plans for future remakes of any specific game, but, during development, we are always thinking about various possibilities that players can enjoy."
