A UK ticket-holder has won more than £55million in the EuroMillions draw

A UK ticket holder has come forward to claim the massive £55million EuroMillions jackpot.

The lucky punter won £55,013,819 in the draw on Tuesday and Camelot UK confirmed it has received the claim which will now go through the validation process.

They will then decide if they want to go public with their win.

The jackpot makes the ticket-holder richer than Harry Kane, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.

Andy Carter, senior winner's advisor, said: 'This is the third UK EuroMillions jackpot win of 2023 and the second win this month.

'On June 2, one lucky ticket holder scooped the entire £111 million EuroMillions jackpot, making them the 12th biggest National Lottery winner of all time.'

The winning numbers for the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday June 20 were 11, 17, 28, 32, 35, while the two Lucky Stars were 05 and 06.

The claim comes hard on the heels of two other Lotto players who each scooped £6.3 million this week.

The two draws were within 24 hours of each other.

UK lottery winners have the option of revealing their identity or staying anonymous.

From the UK National Lottery's rich list, only two winners out of the ten chose to reveal themselves.

The EuroMillions draw is held twice a week, with the first draw taking place on a Tuesday and the second on a Friday, usually taking place between 8.15pm and 8.45pm.

A record £195 million jackpot was taken home by an anonymous Brit last July, and many other winners choose to remain anonymous.

Two months earlier, Joe Thwaite and his wife Jess landed a £184million jackpot and celebrated their triumph with a £16.95 steak and chips at a Miller & Carter restaurant on a Gloucester trading estate.

During the celebration they toasted the memory of Jess's father Tony Shearing, who died in 2015, and had always said: 'Imagine if you won the Lottery.'

The couple said they wanted to go public in the end because they did not want to put the 'burden' of keeping the secret on others.

The Thwaites, who live just outside Gloucester, could have bought 10,870,000 plates of rump with their record-breaking jackpot.

Their extraordinary win made them richer than Sir Tom Jones.
