One of BBC's longest running show's have been pulled from schedules for months leaving viewers fuming.
Soap opera Doctors will be off air until September the broadcaster announced on Thursday as it takes a summer break with some fans concerned it may lead to it being axed indefinitely.
Taking to Twitter the statement read: 'Doctors will be off air and return to your screens on Monday 4th September. In the meantime, Catch up on BBC iPlayer'.
Racing to the comments section one fan said: 'This is madness!! It's getting earlier each year? You always used to break in July when Wimbledon started. Why so early? I fear this may be headed for the chop'.
Another commented: 'Can't believe there is now a break until September! Why? no other soap does this!'.
Someone else said: 'That's so long away'.
And a fourth commented: '10 weeks!!! Crazy length of break'.
MailOnline have contacted the BBC for comment.
The show first aired in 2000 and most recently won the Best On-Screen Partnership at the 2023 Soap Awards for actors Jan Pearson and Chris Walker.
It comes after actress Kellie Shirley who used to appear in EastEnders, playing Shirley Carter's daughter Carly Wicks, joined the Doctors cast in April.
Her character Jo McLennon struggles with agoraphobia and is housebound and Dr Al (Ian Midlane) is set to realise the issues she is facing when he visits her.
The dramatic storyline will continue with her sons facing their own difficulties.
Her son Freddie will not turn up at school and it will also be revealed that his brother Conor is battling his own demons, struggling with drugs.
Kellie's appearance in Doctors comes after she last appeared in the show in 2016.
It comes after Kellie revealed her baby boy's adorable name after giving birth to her third child last month.
The star announced that she and husband Phil Davies have called their bundle of joy, Ezra Cillian.
The baby boy was born at King's College Hospital in London, the same place as her twins Pearl and Louis, seven.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the actress revealed the birth was a lot easier than last time and now when she looks at Ezra she forgets all the stressful moments of being exhausted.
She said: 'It's so all-consuming. You're so full of love - and knackered! - but you get those moments when Ezra does what looks like a smile and you forget that you've been up since 3am. It's just lovely.
'Last time I went to 9cm and caught an infection and it was just so nuts. It was a very different experiencing going in with my bag, knowing he would be born that day.'
Kellie said she asked the nurses to 'put the radio on for the delivery' and her baby boy was 'born to Amy Winehouse's Back To Black' which she loves.
The soap star took to Instagram last month to announce she and her husband Phil Davies had welcomed their bundle of joy.
Sharing an adorable photo of her little one, the star let her following know the big news.
