Black Mirror fans have found their faces plastered across massive billboards in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
Black Mirror's Twitter account started sharing snaps of random people on the billboards with their names and 'Is Awful' written across them.
The unique marketing comes after season six of Black Mirror arrived on Netflix last week and the first episode of the dystopian series, titled 'Joan Is Awful', sees a woman discover a global streaming platform called Streamberry has launched a TV drama adaptation of her life.
Streamberry closely resembles Netflix, and now it seems the streaming giant is embracing the similarity with the launch of a new tool, called 'You Are Awful.'
The unnerving adverts revealed that Dr Rotten Robbie Is Awful in London, Shahab Is Awful in Birmingham and Nicholas Is Awful in Manchester.
However when fans uploaded their pictures on the Streamberry website, users were actually given a warning that 'you may even end up on a billboard'.
To celebrate the launch of season six, last week Netflix had changed its name on Twitter to Streamberry UK & Ireland.
The account tweeted a link to the new tool writing: 'Join the Streamberry family today! #YouAreAwful.'
To try it yourself, visit the Streamberry site here, where you'll be prompted to enter your first name.
Click continue, and you'll be asked to take or upload a photo for your poster.
'Alright [name], please capture or upload a photo of yourself. You may even end up on a billboard!' it says.
Once you've uploaded your photo, you can adjust it using the arrows on the left, or zoom in and out by clicking on the magnifying glass icon.
At this stage, you'll also have to consent to Netflix's uses of your image for its marketing campaign, as well as its terms and conditions.
Finally, click continue, and you'll see your face at the top of a fake Streamberry site, with the option to download your poster.
Some of those who appeared on the posters were shocked to see their faces splashed across billboards and took to Twitter.
With one of the fans writing: 'I'm sorry what.'
Another wrote: 'Hold up. it's not a real billboard is it?!'
To which someone replied: 'They actually are!
'I'm CERTAIN it was this one I was today because I remember pointing it out to my colleague that it wasn't Joan!'
While someone else said: 'How creepy would it be to see yourself on a billboard?
'Watched Joan is Awful last night and it was trippy!'
