The brother and sister of a man allegedly stabbed in Broken Hill have been arrested in connection to the incident.
Kyle Ross Henderson, 27, and his sister Alina Marie Henderson appeared before a court registrar on Friday in separate bail applications.
Police allege Mr Henderson stabbed his brother, Dwayne, late on Tuesday night at a north Broken Hill address. They allege Alina Henderson offered to delete surveillance footage from the home.
The court heard Dwayne Henderson was in a serious condition in Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Stephen Finlayson told the court the charges were "incredibly serious".
"[Dwayne Henderson] has now lost his leg ... and the prognosis is grim to survive," he told the court.
Kyle and Alina Henderson are both charged with intending to pervert the course of justice and hindering an investigation, while Mr Henderson is also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
Police asked for bail to be refused for Ms Henderson.
Her lawyer, Jessica Kitch, suggested her client be allowed to live in Menindee as a condition of bail and could not interfere with any investigation while there.
"She is currently engaging in counselling ... and is working towards complete sobriety," Ms Kitch told the court.
The prosecution, however, said the charges were too serious, alleging Ms Henderson had attempted to pervert the course of the investigation.
"Ms Henderson offered the co-accused to delete the [property's security] footage," Sergeant Finlayson told the court.
Ms Henderson became visibly upset after she was denied bail.
"I did nothing wrong ... I love my brother," she said via video link.
"You should be ashamed of yourself."
Kyle Henderson chose to represent himself in his application for bail as his lawyer was unavailable.
He suggested he was not a risk to the community or witnesses and could find somewhere to live outside of Broken Hill while the case progressed.
"I do like my brother ... ," he told the court.
He too was denied bail and will appear before a magistrate on Monday.
A third person, 28-year-old Meagan Bock, has been charged with hindering an investigation, accessory after the fact and concealing an indictable offence.
Ms Bock faced Wilcannia Local Court on Thursday and was denied bail. She will appear in court on August 22.
