There are many shrines within The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom hidden behind challenging quests. The Utojis Shrine, while not too mechanically difficult to unlock, can cause players trouble if they don't follow the quests instructions exactly.

In Tears of the Kingdom, the Utojis Shrine is located at the coordinates 1217, -2542, 0096 near Tobio's Hollow. However, the shrine will not appear until players complete the related shrine quest.

Players can begin "Legend of the Soaring Spear" by making their way to Tobio's Hollow Cave and entering around 1167, -2441, 0168. It should be noted that this cave is not one leading to Tobio's Hollow Chasm.

The entrance of Tobio's Hollow Cave can be easily reached by launching from the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and gliding southeast. The mouth of the cave is across from a small monster campsite and features two luminous ore deposits that can be spotted from the air.

Players should navigate through the cave's long tunnel, avoiding or fighting the Keese and Electric Chuchu along the way.

At the end of the tunnel, there will be an abandoned campsite with a tattered notebook Link can read to kick off the shrine quest.

Players will find that the tattered notebook was left by a previous explorer seeking a treasure of the Zonai. However, they were unable to decipher the puzzle of the cave.

The explorer's notebook describes the clue for obtaining the treasure: Throw the Zonai spear with a wing from the pedestal through the ring.

The first step of the puzzle will be to pick up one of the two Zonaite Spears on the ground near the campsite.

Next, players will need to drop any wing on the ground and fuse it to the Zonaite Spear to create a Soaring Spear.

Players can use any wing in order to create the Soaring Spear including Gleeok Wings, Gibdo Wings, or a Wing Zonai Device. However, only a Zonaite Spear such as the two found in the cave will work for the purposes of the shrine quest.

If players do not have any wings in their inventory, they can defeat one of the many Keese in the cave to acquire some.

After obtaining the Soaring Spear, players can make their way up to the platform on the small hill near the campsite. As they do, the platform will light up for a short moment and the ring across the water will be illuminated.

From the platform, players will need to throw the Soaring Spear through the ring by holding and releasing the R-Button. Although the fused wing allows the spear to fly much further than normal, players may need to aim a little higher than they expect to account for the arc of the spear's path.

Players will know they are successful in hitting their mark when the ring flashes a brighter green. If this does not happen, or they miss their throw, players can retrieve the spear and try again.

Following a successful throw, the Utojis Shrine will emerge on the left side of the cavern, and players will be presented with the completion of "Legend of the Soaring Spear" in their Adventure Log.

Inside the Utojis Shrine, players will find Rauru's Blessing and can receive a free Light of Blessing from the statue as reward for overcoming the shrine quest.

There is also a Large Zonai Charge for players to claim from the chest just inside the shrine.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
