Like salt to a wound, Premier Chris Minns has turned Sydney maroon and donned the cane toad jersey himself after an Origin defeat.
Thanks to a wager with his Queensland counterpart, Blues fans on Friday had to endure the Maroons flag atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The Maroons tied up the men's series with a 32-6 win on Wednesday night.
Had NSW won and taken out game three, Brisbane's Story Bridge would have been lit up blue.
Mr Minns begrudgingly wore a Maroons jersey to mark the occasion with fellow NSW MP Kevin Anderson.
"This better be the last time I have to wear this jersey," he tweeted on Friday.
"Well, this has made my day!" Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk tweeted.
Given the Blues' recent track record, it isn't the first time the Harbour Bridge has turned maroon.
Former premier Dominic Perrottet made good on his promise last year, lighting up the bridge in maroon - albeit only for 35 minutes.
But it's not all Queensland's way.
Mr Minns remains smug thanks to Taylor Swift snubbing Brisbane in her The Eras Tour.
Sydney will host three shows at Stadium Australia while a double-billing at the MCG is the popstar's only other Australian shows.
"No, I mean, it's devastating for the people of Queensland that Taylor Swift hasn't seen it necessary to travel north of the border to do a concert," he told reporters on Wednesday.
"If I can get a ticket, I'll be there for sure."
Sunshine Coast MP Andrew Wallace has launched a petition to get the international sensation up north, but so far to no avail.
