Jun. 22-STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, with added focus on health disparities and healthcare inequities across the country, Richmond University Medical Center is trying to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care possible.

Dr. Priscila Echevarria de Sepulveda has been named manager for health equity as the hospital implements initiatives to help eliminate healthcare disparities. She has served as a healthcare professional for the past decade, helping to foster better relationships between underserved patients and their clinical care teams.

Her areas of focus have been ambulatory outpatient services, Patient-Centered Medical Home (P-CMH), Quality Assurance Reporting Requirements (QARR), Healthcare E-ffectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), patient satisfaction, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting.

Dr. de Sepulveda holds a bachelor of arts in psychology and a master's in public administration from the College of New Rochelle.

She achieved a doctorate of education in executive leadership, with a focus on social justice, from St. John Fisher University in 2021 and is currently obtaining a credential in informed-trauma clinical practice with the NYU Silver certificate program.

MORE ON RUMC

To help young patients who are receiving care at Richmond University Medical Center, students from Notre Dame Academy created fun activity packages and donated the items to the young patients.

Among the items included in each package was a coloring coloring book and various types of crayons and other creative games and toys geared for children.
