Easy Oreo Fluff Recipe is the dessert salad side dish you have been dreaming about! So easy to make and perfect for family dessert, holidays, or summer barbecues.
Fair warning I am on a roll making Oreo Recipes. A couple of weeks ago I made Oreo Rice Krispie Treats and it reminded me how much I love baking and working with Oreos in the kitchen. lol.
I recently made an Oreo Poke Cake that was delicious! I seriously can't stop baking with Oreos!
It has also been way too long since I made a sweet dip recipe. I went on a spree of appetizer dips for a while but realized that I was missing sweet dessert dips.
If you love Oreos and who doesn't you are going to LOVE this no-bake dessert. So dang easy to make and so dang delicious.
I love an easy recipe that everyone loves.
Ingredients
This is a quick overview of the simple ingredients that you'll need to make an epic Oreo Fluff Dessert! Specific measurements and step by step instructions are included in the printable recipe card
Oreo Cookies - You can use any variety of Oreos that makes you happy. We use regular or double stuff depending on what we have available in the pantry.
Instant Vanilla Pudding - You can use vanilla, cheesecake pudding, chocolate, white chocolate, or any flavor instant pudding mix that sounds good. This Oreo Fluff Recipe can be made with sugar-free pudding to save calories.
Cream Cheese - I like how creamy the cream cheese makes this side dish. If you want to cut calories or don't like cream cheese you can leave it out.
Milk - We use whatever milk is in the fridge.
Cool Whip - You can use regular, fat-free, or sugar-free whipped topping. The most important thing is to make sure you thaw the Cool Whip overnight before making this recipe.
Mini marshmallows - If you are not a marshmallow person don't worry you can leave them out of the Oreo pudding mixture.
Equipment Needed
Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.
Hand Mixer - Using a mixer will help mix the pudding mix and cream cheese together and get it smooth.
Kitchenaid Mixer - I find that the Kitchen aid makes it a lot easier to make this recipe compared to a hand mixer but both work.
Spatula - I prefer to use a spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl and make sure everything is combined. A whisk can be used to stir everything together but be prepared for the Oreo chunks to get stuck in the whisk.
Serving Bowl - We suggest using a serving bowl that is pretty wide so it is easy to serve this Oreo Cookie Salad.
Freezer Bag/Rolling Pin - This is my favorite way to get crushed Oreos. You can use a food processor if you want fine pieces in your fluff salad. I like to get different sizes of Oreo chunks for this dessert salad.
Make Ahead - This Oreo Fluff Salad can be made a day or two ahead of time. Keep covered and stored in the refrigerator. Add extra Oreos right before serving if you want the crunchy texture.
Storage -Store covered in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. The texture of the Oreos will soften as it is stored.
Freezing/How to freeze -We do not suggest freezing Oreo Fluff Salad. The texture will change when thawed.
Additions- If you are serving this Oreo Fluff as a dip you an serve it with strawberries, pretzels, cookies, animal crackers, or your favorite sweet dippers.
Substitutions - Different flavor of Oreo cookies can be used to change up this easy no bake dessert. Different flavor of pudding will also change up this easy dessert kids love.
Vegetarian Option - Oreo Cookies and Cool Whip are vegetarian friendly.
Vegan Option - Oreo Cookies are Vegan! Cool Whip is not vegan but you can use Soy Whip, So Delicious CocoWhip, or another alternative dairy free whipped topping. Substitute with non-dairy milk and cream cheese.
Gluten Free - Regular Oreos are not Gluten Free but they do sell Gluten Free Oreos . All other ingredients are Gluten Free.
Smaller Serving Size -The recipe card below can be changed to a smaller serving size to change the ingredient amounts.
Larger Group/More servings - This recipe can easily be doubled for a larger serving.
Recipe Tips
If you are making this for a summer barbecue, big event, or a few people I highly suggest doubling this recipe. It is always a huge hit and disappears faster than you think it will. The recipe makes a ton but it still seems to disappear so quickly when we serve it at a barbecue or party. If you are making this for your family the original recipe should work perfectly.
I use a kitchenaid stand mixer to get the pudding mixture whipped together easily. You can use a hand mixer but it may take a bit to get the mixture to thicken.
Plan at least an hour or longer for this Oreo Dessert Salad to chill in the refrigerator. The longer it chills the better the flavors meld together.
Keep some Oreo Crumbs to the side to add to the top of this Oreo Fluff Salad when you are ready to serve it.
Store this easy Oreo Fluff in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
You can easily change this up for St. Patrick's day by adding in a couple of drops of green food coloring while mixing the pudding mix and milk. To make it even more fun try it with Mint Oreos.
This mix can be poured into an Oreo crust or graham cracker crust to make an Oreo Fluff Pie.
We like to dip strawberries, Oreos, Graham Crackers into this sweet dip but I will admit that we have eaten it with just a spoon many times. lol
