Alice Springs' reimposed alcohol restrictions see crime rate fall
The crime rate in Alice Springs has begun to fall after alcohol restrictions were imposed earlier this year.
The Northern Territory government originally resisted the bans but since restoring restrictions, assaults fell from 260 to 170 between January and April.
Communities can choose not to impose the bans by instead offering an alcohol management plan, however, not a single plan has been submitted since restrictions were resumed.
