Wind Advisory In Effect Through Friday In Pass Area, RivCo Mountains

The wind advisory began Thursday afternoon and is in effect through 6 p.m. Friday, the NWS reported.

BANNING, CA - A wind advisory was in effect Thursday for the Pass Area and much of Riverside County. Conditions would remain gusty through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

The wind advisory began Thursday afternoon shortly before 2 p.m. and would remain in effect through 6 p.m. Friday, the NWS reported.

Westerly winds would blow sustained at 25 to 35 mph across the region. According to the weather service, the strongest winds were expected to gust at 60 mph. Winds were expected to lower air quality and blow around unsecured objects.

The agency recommends watching for downed tree limbs and using caution when driving amid windy conditions, especially for motorists who operate high-profile vehicles.

The cities of Idyllwild-Pine Cove, Julian, Pine Valley, Indio, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, Palm Desert Country, La Quinta, Coachella, and Borrego Springs would all be most affected by this wind storm.
