Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom may not be walking down the aisle anytime soon, but the couple did recently make a sobriety pact.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Katy opened up about what motivated them to make the big lifestyle change. The couple made the commitment in March and are continuing with it for at least three months.

"For me, it was an opportunity to reset. We reset after President's Day, and it was a great opportunity to just let my body bounce back a little bit," she said. "I've had a pretty good relationship with just finding balance."

The American Idol judge explained that the sobriety pact has allowed them to focus on their careers as well as relationship, adding it helps her be more "supportive" of her partner. "We did this because he's shooting a movie in London right now that's taking every ounce of his focus, and so I wanted that opportunity to be supportive," Katy shared.

"It's really hard to do anything, whether that's doing a cleanse or a reset, unless your partner's doing it. So, doing it together makes it so much easier," she continued.

For now, the singer says she's "indulge a little bit" in an alcoholic beverage on the weekend, but she's strictly sober on week nights.

"I love to have my reset moments, especially being 38, balancing the intensity of my career and having a toddler who loves to run," she added.

While Orlando is clearly focused on his career, and Katy wants to be as supportive as possible, her recent comments still leave fans questioning when the couple plan to walk down the aisle.

Orlando proposed to Katy on Valentine's Day in 2018. Reports said the couple originally planned to marry in 2020, but their plans were derailed when they couldn't secure their location. "They changed the timing due to the location they want," a source told Us Weekly in December 2019.

"They're going to have one local wedding party, and the other will be a destination wedding party," they continued, adding, "Katy wants to have her first kid soon after they get married."

Katy went on to announce her pregnancy with daughter Daisy in 2020 and gave birth the same year.

The couple were apparently planning a second wedding in Japan while Katy was expecting, but had to cancel it due to COVID. "It was all set for Japan with 150 guests. Katy was actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant," a source told PEOPLE.

"They were both so elated that all the wedding details were finally coming together, but they are hitting pause because of coronavirus," the insider said.

Since then, Orlando and Katy haven't seemed to make any concrete wedding plans, though Katy recently reassured fans that getting hitched is very much on their to-do list, though it may be a lower priority. For now, it appears the couple are simply happy focusing on life with their daughter as well as their busy careers.
