Jaymi Lynn and Joshua were banned from attending their children's school activities for sharing LGBTQ-affirming posts.

Jaymi and Joshua are foster parents to two children enrolled in a private Christian school. Sharing on TikTok, the couple said they were warned they are "an inherent harm to kids" and banned from school events where children are present due to Instagram posts.

After this incident, the two pulled the children from a religious school in San Diego, California.

In a viral TikTok video, Joshua and Jaymi said, "We are very affirming of the LGBTQ community. They added, "Our theology in this area has drastically changed over the years."

Lynn said, "We don't believe that being gay is a sin." She explained, "Because we publicly posted on that, things at our kids' school changed."

Things escalated when Josh applied to chaperone a field trip for their 7-year-old. Before the trip, the school called and notified them, "Parents complained about our public social media posts affirming the LGBTQ community."

Lynn replied that the two spent years working with their local youth ministry as well as their social work helping out children.

But, instead of getting any reassurance, the school quickly said they were no longer "welcome at events where there are kids present."

This was when the couple decided to pull the children out of school, despite their initial wish "to wait until the end of the school year just for transition purposes."

Lynn added, "After the field trip happened and we were informed that we were no longer allowed at any school events where there were kids present, we really couldn't keep them there."

On the last day of school, the couple sent cupcakes to the school. Lynn then said the cupcakes had rainbows and unicorns to make a statement.

Many people on TikTok expressed their sadness over what the family went through. Others were excited about how the couple handled the challenging situation.

One of the most upvoted comments said, "Welcome to 'Christian Love.'"

Another TikTok user shared, "You are the best kind of petty! Your new school will be so lucky!"

They also received praise from pastors: "As a progressive church pastor, may I say that you guys are absolute legends!"

One person shared how they shared similar struggles, "We just pulled over kids three weeks ago due to the same issue, and my kids are doing so much better in public school (so far) and much happier!"

The couple also gained support from people within the school system, "I love that you admitted you changed your opinion. I'm a principal of a public school. You will be WELCOMED!!"

Another person wrote, "Hahaha, love it. And applaud you for growing."

More people chimed in, "I think you guys are amazing, and that's awful you guys had even to change schools!"
