Saturday Night Live alum Rob Schneider appeared on Fox News to promote his new comedy special 'Woke Up in America.' Giving his comic take on politics and culture in America, Schneider didn't hold back on his politically incorrect views, taking aim at urban retail, the liberal agenda, and the suppression of dissenting voices.

Fresh from a visit to a store in crime-plagued Manhattan, Schneider quipped, "You have to say, 'Excuse me. Can I get one of the clerks to unlock the bananas?' I then was trying to get eyedrops. I said, 'Are you going to get my eyedrops?' They said, 'Yeah. It's behind the counter.' Are they figuring out how to make crack out of the eyedrops?"

Schneider's view? "It's called shoplifting! No one's paying."

Asked if it's harder to write jokes in today's politically correct world, Schneider remarked, "It's a lot easier to just go with the liberal thing. There's more money in it.The really good comedians - the ones I really respect - go against the grain, go against.wherever the power is being abused. You have to go after the power centers."

In a clip from his upcoming comedy special, Schneider tackled the Covid shutdown, saying, "I knew this country was in trouble when I went to a bank, and the guard at the bank said, 'Excuse me, sir. You're in a bank. You have to wear a mask.' For the last hundred years, you wear a mask in a bank, you were the bad guy.!"

On the pandemic and the national lockdown that followed, Schneider humorously recalled, "It was really tough because you saw people who you respected [who] just went all-in on this. It just didn't make sense. But when they arrested that guy out by himself in the middle of the ocean paddle-boarding, I went like, 'No!'"

Asked if he lost friends for being a truth-teller, even when the truth is politically incorrect, Schneider said, "Yes!.The friends I have have been around for 30 years. They know me. I was just as nuts 30 years ago.But I do think that people have come around. The values of America, what has made this country great.the things that enabled me to have a career were the things I'd like to continue to have for [my] kids. It's important to speak up because, when they can silence dissenters, that's when real authoritarianism takes hold. And I think that's what's happening. There's no forgiveness from the liberal intelligentsia.So.just stick to your guns."

Asked if many comedians privately share his politically incorrect views, Schneider said, "Oh sure! At the end of the day, you have to go where the jokes are. You have to make fun of the people who deserve to be mocked.Authoritarianism, especially coming from the liberal intelligentsia, deserves to be mocked. And it's easy to do."
