Easy Bacon Gravy Recipe perfect for biscuits and gravy. This bacon grease gravy tastes amazing and is made with pantry basics.

This bacon grease gravy is a fun twist on classic sausage gravy. I have been working on making different flavors of country gravy for my husband's favorite biscuits and gravy breakfast.

My sister-in-law lives in Alabama and keeps telling me about tomato gravy and chocolate gravy so those are on my list to make and perfect this year.

My husband grew up in Alabama and LOVES southern food. I grew up near Seattle and have spent the past 15+ years learning to cook his favorite meals. When I made shrimp and grits for him for a date night at home I am pretty sure I won wife of the year in his eyes. LOL!

This is one of those comfort foods that everyone loves.

Try pouring this bacon fat gravy over Bisquick waffles for an epic breakfast. This would also be delicious over cornbread, toast, or anything you love adding gravy too.

Other ideas include pouring this gravy over chicken fried steak, chicken, smothered pork chops, or French fries to make a poutine.

Optional - Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper

We use this bacon grease gravy to make biscuits and bacon gravy.

Bacon Grease - If you don't keep bacon grease in the fridge you can also use fresh bacon grease. The amount of bacon you need to cook to get a 1/4 cup of grease will depend on how fatty the bacon is. Lately most of the bacon I have found at the grocery store is super fatty so it doesn't take much to get enough grease. Thick cut bacon will provide the most grease.

If you like a peppered gravy try making this recipe with peppered bacon. Different flavors of bacon will add extra flavor to this homemade gravy.

Flour - All purpose flour is used for this recipe. We have not tried any alternative flours with this recipe.

Biscuits - This can be served over homemade biscuits or store bought refrigerator biscuits in a can.

This recipe can be made right after you cook bacon or you can use bacon drippings that you have stored in the refrigerator.

If you are using fresh bacon grease make sure to remove bacon before starting this recipe.

Step 1 - Heat bacon grease over medium heat. Add in flour and cook until the flour bacon grease mixture is turning slightly brown. Whisk it together so it doesn't burn. This is your roux to start the gravy

Step 2- Add in cups of milk one cup at a time. You want to add milk and whisk at the same time. Keep the heat at medium heat and whisk until bacon fat gravy is smooth and starts to thicken.

Step 3- Add in salt and pepper, stir to desired consistency.

Optional - add in chopped bacon pieces or serve them over the top of biscuits and gravy.

This bacon gravy tastes amazing over mashed potatoes, serve over biscuits, add to a gravy dish and let your guests pour it over whatever makes them happy.

This can be made with fresh bacon grease or bacon grease you have stored in the refrigerator.

Store leftovers if there are any in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
