Tottenham striker Harry Kane has entered talks with one of Europe's leading clubs over a move away from the Premier League, according to one source.

Tottenham endured a disappointing season in 2022-23, finishing eighth in the Premier League and failing to go any further than the fifth round in either domestic cup competition. Plus, they were knocked out of the Champions League in the last 16 by Italian side Milan.

Despite Tottenham's struggles, Kane still had a fantastic season. He managed 32 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions, with 30 of those strikes coming in 38 Premier League games.

Kane must be given credit for only finishing six goals behind Prem Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland, despite playing in a Spurs team that creates far less chances than Manchester City.

The England star is facing a big decision as he will soon enter the final 12 months of his Spurs contract. He could push for a transfer this summer, knowing Spurs will not want him to leave on a free transfer next year.

In this case, his priority would be to join a team that regularly competes for trophies, as he has not won any silverware with Spurs.

Alternatively, Kane might opt to extend his contract with Spurs and put all of his effort towards helping them end their trophy drought, while also continuing to chase Alan Shearer's Prem scoring record.

In terms of a potential transfer, both Manchester United and Real Madrid have been tipped to sign Kane recently. But those two clubs have now dropped their interest in him after finding out Spurs would demand a whopping £100million to sell, despite Kane's contract running down.

Instead, the 29-year-old may now head to French club Paris Saint-Germain. On Monday, French outlet Le Parisien revealed how PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is 'pushing' to sign Kane. He wants Kane to replace Kylian Mbappe, who could leave for Real Madrid after revealing he will not extend his contract at the Parc des Princes.

CaughtOffside have now provided an update on the situation while citing fresh reports emerging from Spain. It is claimed that PSG have begun the process of trying to land Kane as they are 'already negotiating' with the player's entourage.

The Ligue 1 champions have not sent Kane a contract offer yet. Instead, they are trying to gauge whether he would be open to signing for them and how much he might want to earn in France.

Should PSG get the green light from Kane and his agent, then they will enter formal discussions with Spurs over a move.

PSG should find it far easier to negotiate with Spurs than Man Utd did, too. Spurs do not want to sell Kane to an English rival under any circumstances and will be far happier if he heads to a club on the continent such as PSG.

England's all-time record scorer would definitely end his long wait for a trophy if he went to PSG. They have won nine out of the last 11 Ligue 1 titles, as well as regularly triumphing in other competitions such as the French cup and French super cup.

Although, Kane may not end up winning the Champions League if he heads to PSG. Even with Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in their squad, PSG have failed to win Europe's elite club competition in the last two years.

Kane departing Spurs may reduce Ange Postecoglou's chances of landing a midfield target, as it has been claimed he wants to link up with the forward next season.
