Rachel Nichols, one of the longtime faces of ESPN prior to her unceremonious exit, shared a new venture she'll be undertaking on Wednesday.
Per Nichols, in addition to her role with Showtime Sports in LA, she'll also be headlining a show on the new Monumental Sports Network, talking to players, politicians and celebrities from the DMV area.
"So much sports coverage is being cut back these days; I love that Monumental is so enthusiastically expanding what fans get to see and experience," she said. "Plus this means time with my beloved Washington Capitals. Can't wait!"
Nichols' followers reacted to her announcement on social media.
"Couldn't be more excited to share that Rachel Nichols will host a new show on Monumental Sports Network this Fall!" tweeted colleague Zach Leonsis. "Rachel's hometown roots run deep here in the DMV - we're honored to have her join our team!"
"WHOAAAAA Rachel Nichols back in the area??" a user asked. "This is a huge get for Monumental."
