Blake Lively's new movie It Ends With Us has been shut down in the middle of production until after the Writers Guild of America strike has been resolved.

The movie was halfway through shooting when production was officially halted. Filming had begun in Hoboken, New Jersey in early May.

Production was shut down because the movie's producers failed to convince the WGA that the co-financing status of Wayfarer Studios meant that the movie was within WGA guidelines.

However, the WGA has ruled that this does not mean that the film is within their guidelines and so production has been shut down until the strikes are over. Deadline reported that their sources claimed around 140 people are now out of jobs because of this shut-down.

The film will be a negative pickup for Sony Pictures, where the studio has agreed to buy the movie from the producer at a specific date for a specific sum.

The movie is an adaptation of the 2016 book of the same name by Colleen Hoover. The story follows a doomed romance between a young woman and her love interest. It is based on the author's parents' relationship.

The film is directed by Justin Baldoni, who stars in the picture alongside Lively. They play the couple depicted in the movie. This project is just one of many to now be affected by the WGA strike.

The Last of Us, Daredevil: Born Again, The Penguin, Yellowstone spin-off 1923, and Severance are just some of the many popular projects that have all been delayed or affected by the ongoing strikes.
