11.45am: Wake up after pulling a late one, writing for a ghostwriting client (I am definitely a night owl when working on a long writing project). Thankfully today is a day off.12.05pm: Quick wash and spritz myself with a facial mist. The rest of my skincare routine can wait. Coffee!12.15pm: Sip my coffee while I finish off my skincare routine. Taking extra care with it this morning as today is Botox day and I know I'll have to be minimal with it tonight.2pm: A friend is picking me up to go for coffee before my appointment. I've been seeing the same doctor for Botox since I turned 29. Amazingly, when I moved out here he started a clinic nearby while maintaining his London practice part-time - a huge stroke of luck for me! I take very good care of my skin and don't have any wrinkles (#humblebrag) but my mum has very pronounced 'number 11s' between the brows and I want to avoid that. I also get tension headaches with so much screen work (according to my doctor I have the forehead muscle strength of a man). It's my one biannual non-negotiable, and I wouldn't get anything else done.2.30pm: Finish getting ready and grab a bottle of water from the fridge for the drive. It is SO good to see my friend and we laugh and play unquestionably naff music on the drive in.3pm: We head to Nero as it's fairly empty and we can sprawl over the large sofas. I get a coconut cappuccino with an extra shot (basically a grown-up milkshake and I'm into it) and my friend gets a white chocolate mocha and a slice of cake. I have a voucher to use, which covers it all.4pm: We say our goodbyes as my friend is off to a ceramics class. I need to run to the good Boots on the other side of town before my appointment as I am running low on my stock basics. I pick up La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum and Avène Soothing Eye Cream because using anti-ageing actives is beginning to irritate my skin a little, £57.75.4.45pm: Walk across town to my appointment and realise I have only had coffees and an apple today. I'm pushing it time-wise ahead of my appointment so I dive into a Tesco Express for some strawberries to pick at on the way, £2.25. 5pm: Make it to my appointment!6pm: Ah, that felt good (I must be the only person who actually enjoys Botox). I spend some time in the waiting room lounge afterwards to let the redness subside. It's noticeably chilly so I request a herbal tea to warm up. Apparently they've just run out so I opt for an espresso and water instead (hello, over-caffeinated). Eventually wrap up and head downstairs to pay and book my next appointment, £300. 6.30pm: I make it to M&S before closing. I do miss the lack of dining variety and spontaneity now I live in the sticks so getting bits from M&S feels novel. I'm in luck as a number of my fave treats have been reduced. Pick up an organic salmon fillet, a salad bowl, cucumber, silken tofu, sparkling water and dragon fruit, £12.75. 7.20pm: Hop on the bus and listen to Sentimental Garbage podcast for the journey back, £2.8.30pm: Have a miso soup and crudités to tide me over while the salmon is in the oven. Eventually have the salmon with the big salad bowl and feel very satisfied.1.30am: Read until stupid o'clock again. Sleep!Total: £374.75
