The Caloundra Music Festival has been one of South East Queensland's most cherished live music events since its inception. Looking at the first line-up announcement for 2023, it's easy to see why.
It's packed with some of the greatest local talent currently kicking around, with a couple of special international guests thrown in for good measure.
One of those is the mighty Sampa The Great, who returns to Australia after a triumphant string of festival shows earlier this year including big performances at WOMADelaide, Ability Fest and a festival called PANAMA.
The other is L.A.B., one of the biggest bands in New Zealand right now.
The local contingent in this first announcement is absolutely first-rate, with rock legends Spiderbait, country icon Kasey Chambers, indie rock wonders Middle Kids, The Temper Trap, and Jack River, hip hop favourite Illy, soulful singers Vera Blue, Jarryd James and WILSN, and the always excellent Busby Marou.
The festival is a down-to-earth, family-friendly event set right on the beach, in one of the best locations you could imagine. If the kids get bored of the music, there's plenty of workshops and activities to keep them busy.
Expect more artists to be announced in the coming months.
Here's the line-up as it stands so far:
