England captain Ben Stokes said his troops are in "absolute pieces" after their epic two-wicket defeat in the first Ashes test at Edgbaston.
With the Aussies needing 37 to win, Stokes dropped a difficult chance off a Nathan Lyon pull shot that could have all but won England the match.
"Losing sucks," Stokes told the BBC after play. "We always want to win."

"We are absolutely devastated that we have lost.
"The lads are up there in absolute pieces, especially (Ollie Robinson) and Broady (Stuart Broad) who put in an unbelievable shift there.
"But if that's not attracting people to the game we love then I don't know what will.
"There are still four games left. Keep following us and we will keep trying to do what we do."
Stokes will no doubt cop some heat from the English press in the coming days for his now-costly first innings declaration late on day one, but he insists he has "no regrets" over the decision.

With Joe Root unbeaten on 118, Stokes elected to bowl four overs at Usman Khawaja and David Warner, but the pair got through to stumps unscathed.
"I thought that was a time to pounce," Stokes said.
"Who knows, we could have got an extra 40 runs or lost two wickets in two balls. I am not a captain who gets by on what ifs.
"We were in control of most of the game and managed to produce a result. Obviously we wanted to be on top. We are devastated but that's sport. It is great and an emotional rollercoaster."
Nor is he going to shy away from playing Bazball - the aggressive style of cricket that had seen England win 11 of their last 13 Tests heading into Edgbaston.
"I am not going to change the way I have gone about my cricket because it is the Ashes."
The second Test gets underway at Lord's on June 28.?
