Sausage-maker Johnsonville is recalling more than 42,000 pounds of ready-to-eat pork sausage links for possible contamination with extraneous materials, specifically plastic fibers, federal food regulators say.
The Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, establishment, is recalling some "Beddar with Cheddar" links that may be contaminated with the fibers, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Thursday.
The problem was discovered after the firm received at least one consumer complaint about the product containing "very thin strands of black plastic fibers."
