At this year's Netflix Tudum, the platform's annual streaming event, Henry Cavill bid his final goodbye to 'The Witcher' ahead of its upcoming third season by taking a moment to thank the other cast members.
Cavill took the stage alongside fellow cast members Freya Allan (Ciri), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer), and Joey Batey (Jaskier). This comes after Cavill announced his departure from the series, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the titular role of Geralt in Season 4.
During their appearance, Batey said, "I suppose we should talk to Henry," addressing the elephant in the room. The Superman actor, however, avoided discussing his relationship with Netflix or himself, despite Tudum likely being his last media appearance for 'The Witcher'.
Instead, Cavill mentioned, "I actually just want to talk about my co-stars here because, once again, it was such a pleasure and honor to be working with you guys. You guys bring so much nuance and detail to these characters, which are often at risk of being oversimplified, and what you guys have done with the characters has involved work, care, and effort. And believe me, working with you guys was the biggest pleasure. So, (I) just want to say I'm gonna miss you. I'm gonna miss you very much."

Back in November 2021, Cavill had said he was fully committed to doing seven seasons of 'The Witcher' "as long as we can keep telling great stories which honor (original author) Sapkowski's work." However, the actor hasn't provided any clear reason why he's leaving the franchise after three seasons.
Having said that, Netflix has experimented quite a lot with the source material, and while fans have reacted to these changes in both good and bad ways, many think this has led to Cavill's departure. Ex-producer Beau DeMayo has also said that some writers "actively disliked" and even mocked Sapkowski's literature.
The third season of 'The Witcher' will be shown in two parts, similar to what 'Stranger Things' did with its fourth installment. The first five episodes will premiere on June 29, while episodes six to eight will release on July 27.
