Arsenal are reportedly interested in Leicester star Harvey Barnes, who's one of Tottenham's top transfer targets this summer.

Barnes, who got 13 goals and three assists in 40 games in all competitions last term, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Foxes after they were relegated to the Championship.

Aston Villa and West Ham have also been linked with Barnes, while Newcastle have joined Spurs in wanting the winger along with teammate James Maddison.

Reports claim Spurs made the first move, with a £50m move for the pair swiftly rejected by Leicester.

They're said to be preparing a new bid, but could now face competition from Arsenal according to the Daily Mail, with The Sun confirming they're 'ready to pounce'.

It's claimed the Gunners are keeping tabs on the situation as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his options on the wing to reduce the workload on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

But Leicester may decide to keep Barnes at the club according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs.

While the Foxes will look to cash in on Maddison, to avoid losing him for free next summer, it's claimed Leicester would prefer to retain Barnes, who has two years left to run on his contract.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: "With Barnes it's less clear because Leicester really don't want to sell, but they're in the Championship and he had such a phenomenal season for them, there's a very realistic chance he goes, especially with several Premier League clubs looking at him as well."

An Arsenal move to Bayern may depend on their move for Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

Reports claim they have agreed personal terms with the German international and are locked in talks with the Blues, who are willing to let the 24-year-old leave, though want more than the £50m Arsenal have offered.

Chief transfer meddlers Bayern Munich, who appear to have successfully swooped to land Kim Min-jae from under Manhcester United's nose, are also thought to be keen on Havertz, though Sky Germany claim they have arrived 'too late' to the party, suggesting the Arsenal transfer is imminent.
