The first trailer for Zoey 102 was released on Tuesday morning.
Jamie Lynn Spears - who is the younger sister of Britney Spears - stars in the July movie that is a follow up to her popular TV series Zoey 101, which aired from 2005 until 2008.
The trailer begins with Zoey Brooks wondering why everyone is talking marriage at their age.
Then her best friend Quinn Pensky (Erin Sanders) surprises her when she calls and asks her to be her maid of honor in her wedding to Logan Reese's (Matthew Underwood).
The news hits Zoey hard as she gulps her wine while looking shell-shocked that her bestie is tying the knot.
Before the wedding Zoey comes face-to-face with her high school love from PCA - Chase Matthews (Sean Flynn) - and it rocks her. Turns out there are still some feelings between the two.
But it's complicated.
Zoey is so embarrassed about being single that she hires a very handsome man to pose as her suave doctor boyfriend.
Chase is put off, even though he has a pretty date of his own by his side.
But then Zoey and Chase get close once again as she reveals to him that she is not sure where her life is headed.
'When did life get so messy? I would kill to go back to PCA,' Zoey says, clearly suffering from angst. Chase replies, 'I'm sure we'd all love to go back.'
She also seems lost and is missing her teen years.
'I just think about all the things I dreamed about in high school and now, I'm here. And it's like, Is this it? Is this the dream?' she muses.
The movie streams on Paramount+ on July 27.
In mid May the 32-year-old former Nickelodeon star uploaded a seconds-long clip from Zoey 102 showing two wedding bands on a sandy beach.
The star wrote in the caption: 'Giving you 102 reasons to be excited for summer.'
Jamie serves as an executive producer.
Zoey 101 ran from 2005 to 2008 for a total of four seasons, and fans have long-awaited a reunion.
The film's log line reads: 'Over a decade after the iconic series ended, Zoey Brooks is still trying to figure out life and love, this time in her 20s.
'The Pacific Coast Academy (PCA) gang returns to Malibu for an over-the-top wedding turned high school reunion for the books.'
Jamie Lynn will return as Zoey Brooks, Erin Sanders as Zoey's BFF Quinn Pensky, and Sean Flynn will reprise his role as Chase Matthews, Zoey's love interest.
A press release also named original cast members Matthew Underwood, Christopher Massey, Abby Wilde, and Jack Salvatore as returning characters.
Newcomers will be Thomas Lennon, Owen Thiele, and Dean Guyer.
In Nickelodeon's post, the caption read, 'The PCA crew, all grown up,' with a pink heart emoji.
Spears first announced a sequel was in the works back in January and shortly thereafter production got underway in North Carolina.
She said in a statement shared by Variety at the time, 'I'm beyond thrilled to be back alongside my PCA family and continue the story of Zoey and all the characters fans know and love.
'As an executive producer, it's been an exciting opportunity to work with such incredible talent as well as Paramount+ and Nickelodeon.'
And announcing the project on Instagram, Jamie Lynn posted a photo of her director's chair emblazoned with her name in pink cursive along with a copy of the script sitting atop her belongings.
In a subsequent snap, chairs belonging to her co-stars were also included.
'IT'S OFFICIAL! Are you ready...' she gushed in the caption, adding shout-outs to Paramount+ and Nickelodeon.
The original series followed the adventures of Zoey, a student attending the former all-boys school Pacific Coast Academy after it opened up enrollment to girls.
The show was a hit on Nickelodeon but was suddenly cancelled in 2008 after four seasons and three years on air.
Since appearing on the series, Spears has continued her acting career with roles in Sweet Magnolias and various other projects.
In February Jamie said she's been having a 'magical experience' making the spin-off film.
She took to Instagram with a carousel of 10 shots from the set of the forthcoming film for her 2.1 million followers to see.
'Bittersweet feels,' she captioned the shot, adding of the cast and crew, 'I truly love all of these humans.'
Spears said that 'the NEW ERA of ZOEY would not exist without each and every person doing their part to create this magical experience, including our amazing fans.'
