Channel Nine has released a full length trailer for its upcoming miniseries Warnie, which dramatises the life of late cricketer Shane Warne.
The trailer begins by showing the actor playing Shane, Alex Williams, slowing walking onto a cricket field.
We then see a montage of scenes depicting Shane's life both on and off the field, hinting at how he became an internationally renowned cricketer.
One scene shows a young Shane going on a romantic date with his wife Simone before the camera cuts to the pair passionately kissing.
It then cuts to years later and shows Warne meeting glamorous actress Elizabeth Hurley, who he was romantically involved with for two years.
The cricketer died just over a year ago in March 2022 of a suspected heart attack while on holiday in Thailand.
The miniseries was filmed in the late cricketer's home city of Melbourne, and it tells a dramatised version of the Spin King's remarkable sporting career and rise to fame, including his marriage to ex-wife Simone Callahan.
Just six months after his death, Channel Nine confirmed it was producing a two-part miniseries about Warne's life, however, it was reported that production on the series began just three weeks after his death.
Shane's eldest daughter Brooke, 25, previously called Nine's announcement of a telemovie based on her father 'beyond disrespectful', as he spent 23 years as a commentator for the network's cricket coverage.
'Do any of you have any respect for dad? Or his family?' she wrote on Instagram.
'He did so much for Channel Nine and now you want to dramatise his life and our family's life six months after he passed away? You are beyond disrespectful.'
According to Nine, the 9Network and Screentime met with the Warne family during pre-production and they have since changed their tune and now support the series.
