An elderly woman has had a lucky escape after her luxury car clipped another vehicle and veered off the road and into Melbourne's Yarra River.
Police said the ?92-year-old woman was driving her Mercedes E200 about 7pm on Sunday when she ran off Alexandra Avenue and into the river.
The woman was able to open the door, make her way out of the ?knee-deep water and climb up the embankment after the incident.

The driver was taken to The Alfred hospital for observation and treatment suffering only minor injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The driver is expected to undergo a licence review, police said.
