Erik ten Hag is reportedly 'willing' to let one Man Utd player leave this summer as part of a swap deal with Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund.

Ten Hag has done a good job since taking over at Man Utd last summer. He helped them win the Carabao Cup and finish third in the Premier League.

The Dutchman will be keen for United to kick on next season and challenge for the title. New signings are needed to make this happen and he is keen to strengthen various positions.

It is one of Ten Hag's priorities to sign one or two new strikers as Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial are both likely to move elsewhere before next season.

Hojlund is understood to be a main target for United following his superb debut season for Atalanta. The 20-year-old grabbed nine goals and two assists in his first year in Serie A.

The Red Devils were hoping to sign Hojlund for around £50m but it was reported earlier this week that Atalanta actually value him at £86m.

GiveMeSport are now reporting that 'Hojlund is high on the list of attacking options the Dutchman is chasing' this summer.

United have handed Atalanta a 'deal-maker in negotiations' as Ten Hag is 'willing to sanction a year-long loan move for winger Amad Diallo to return' to the Italian side as part of a potential 'swap' deal.

The winger left Atalanta at the start of 2021 and joined Man Utd in a deal worth around £19m. He is coming off a stellar loan spell at Championship side Sunderland.

Their midfielder - Luke O'Nien - thinks Diallo was "incredible" during his time with the Black Cats. GiveMeSport's report adds.

'Ten Hag may not be able to find a place for Diallo at Old Trafford next season.

'Frankfurt's French international Randal Kolo Muani is also under consideration by United along with Benfica's Goncalo Ramos.

'Napoli's expensive Nigerian hit-man Victor Osimhen is in there too with Harry Kane still of interest to United despite the obvious difficulties of prising him away from Tottenham and tough-negotiating chairman Daniel Levy.

'United scouts were also spotted at Lille's final two home games of the season last month with Canadian international forward Jonathan David the target.'

Hojlund has denied claims that he has had a "video call" with Ten Hag but he admits his "goal is to reach the top shelf".

"There has been no video call," Hojlund told Danish outlet Berlingske. "I can't say anything about that.

"It's a huge club, so I must have done something right if it says they want me. My goal is to reach the top shelf, and you can say that Manchester United is. So it will be huge."
