Over the past few months, new Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has stolen the headlines for his no-nonsense attitude and aggressive approach to rebuilding Colorado's roster through the transfer portal. But it looks like rebuilding his roster is not the most serious issue Sanders is facing this offseason.
This week, Deion Sanders shared a concerning post on social media discussing "some medical issues with my foot." In the video he shared, Vascular surgeon Donald Jacobs told Colorado athletic trainer Lauren Askevold that Sanders "could lose the foot," implying that amputation could be a possibility.
"As you know, I've faced some medical issues with my foot, but I've never said 'WHY ME,'" Sanders wrote on social media. "I keep moving forward, progressing . See you never know what a person may be going through while I sit in your seat of [judgment], but you can trust and believe that we are all going through something - just keep the faith and know that if He brought you to it, He will bring you through it . I'm Coach Prime and I'm built for this."
Sanders has already had two toes amputated on his left foot.
It's horrible news for the Hall of Famer and current college head coach, and the football world had plenty to say about it on social media.
Despite the extremely concerning update, Sanders sounds optimistic.
"I have full trust in my medical team and God Bless, Dr. Ken Hunt (orthopedic surgeon); Dr. Donald Jacobs (vascular surgeon); Dr. Max Wohlauer (vascular surgeon) and @laurenjaskevold Lauren Askevold - and more importantly I have full trust in Jesus!" Sanders said in his post.
