Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations for June 16

GameRant 16.06.2023 20:54:01 Derek Nichols

Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. With fans constantly asking "what's next" regarding Destiny 2, Bungie decided to provide a few answers. After asking for pressing questions from the community, Bungie's weekly blog addressed a number of them, providing hints as to what's coming down the road starting in Season 22.

In addition to buffs for hand cannons, Strand Warlocks are also getting a boost in Season 22. Many in the Destiny 2 community have indicated that the Broodweaver's Threadling minions have trouble being effective in higher difficulty content including the end-game. As such, Bungie is planning to implement a "sizable increase" to Threadling damage in PvE content, while also reducing the duration and uptime of suspend sources. Not only that, The Wanderer Strand aspect is going to be adjusted in order to make it more effective.

For the time being, the weekend merchant Xur has made a return to the world of Destiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of June 16, 2023.

This weekend, Xur can be found hanging out in the Tower.

As usual, fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.

Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Eye of Another World - Warlock helmet

Exotic Perk:

Cerebral Uplink - Highlights priority targets and improves the regeneration speed of player grenade, melee, and Rift abilities. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.

Although the Warlock exotic has the lowest stat total this week, the distribution is pretty good for what matters. Not only that, this exotic is solid all around and makes for a great pickup this week.

Stat Values (64 Total):

Sealed Ahamkara Grasps - Hunter gauntlets

Exotic Perk:

Nightmare Fuel - Dealing melee damage reloads the player's currently equipped weapon while charged melee final blows reload all weapons. Provides a large benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons, and movement speed and jump height after dealing melee damage.

Another extremely high roll for hunters and considering the Strength stat is extremely high, it synergizes well with the melee focused exotic bonuses this week. While it may not replace some of the better Hunter exotics currently available, this one is still worth a pick up.

Stat Values (67 Total):

Actium War Rig - Titan chest armor

Exotic Perk:

Auto-Loading Link - Steadily reloads a portion of the player's equipped Auto Rifle's or Machine Gun's magazine from reserves. Provides a moderate benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of Auto Rifles and Machine Guns.

The stat roll this week is extremely high, coming in at a 68 overall. However, the distribution is a bit strange as Intellect and Mobility, two stats which are not as valuable to the Titan class, are the highest values this week. Still, with a roll this high, it may be picking up just to replace an older version.

Stat Values (68 total):

At one point in time, Hard Light was largely regarded as the strongest weapon in Destiny 2, including competitive events like the Crucible. It was favored by most players for its rapid fire, high damage, and near zero recoil. As these things tend to go, the nerf hammer finally fell on Hard Light, reducing its effectiveness. These days, the weapon is largely outclassed by other auto rifles in the game, making it hard to recommend. The changing elemental damage is helpful at times, so the gun remains serviceable.

Hard Light basically shoots lasers thanks to its Intrinsic perk, Volatile Light. Rounds fired from the weapon have reduced damage falloff, over penetrate targets, and ricochet of hard surfaces. The more they ricochet, the more damage they inflict. It may not be the beast it once was, but it is still more than serviceable and is a decent pickup this week.

Weapon perks:

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he'll be carrying different rolls.

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's exotic stock in Destiny 2 for June 16, 2023:

Xur's Set of Legendary Armor and Weapons. All gear costs 50 Legendary Shards and 1000 Glimmer.

Destiny 2 is now available PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
