It looks like WWE will be getting some star power back in the near future as the company continues to move towards Money in the Bank on July 1st and SummerSlam on August 5.
Kofi Kingston was sidelined following a SmackDown segment in early March where he suffered an ankle injury while doing a spot outside of the ring, leading to him being pulled from a fatal five-way Intercontinental Title number one contender's match the following week on SmackDown before having surgery a few weeks later.
As previously reported, Kingston told the Battleground Podcast that he was doing some rehab down in Orlando, FL, this week, and he's ahead of schedule to make a return after having the surgery to remove a bone chip and fix a ligament.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that "Kofi Kingston should be back shortly after undergoing ankle surgery. He is starting to be listed in advertising for shows, although the shows are still a few months away."
Because they were moved from SmackDown to Raw as a tag team, Kingston will likely reunite with Xavier Woods on Raw when he's back.
