Based in Bedford, just outside of the town centre is Brewpoint's brewery and taproom. Opened in 2020, the independent brewery uses energy efficient brewing equipment to create their popular range of beers.
The taproom is a great place to try Brewpoint's selection, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy a cold refreshing pint and a bite to eat. When it comes to beers there are a variety of the brand's to pick from, ranging from cold lagers to ale.
I visited on a Friday afternoon just after 5pm with a couple of friends and while it wasn't overly busy there was still a good atmosphere. With a preference for lagers I selected Midpoint, Brewpoint's popular Pilsner Lager, much needed with the 25C plus temperatures that day.
The cold beer was great and the quality was noticeable, with more flavour than the standard off the shelf lager, but not too hoppy. I would happily have drank more if I didn't have somewhere to be afterwards.

Brewpoint's food menu is pretty extensive and has some good deals, particularly when it comes to sharing food. We selected four small dishes for £20 and went with halloumi fries, tater tots and two portions of hoisin pork belly bites. We also ordered cheesy fries with brisket from the sharing menu.
The food arrived quickly and looked and smelt great. The option to share the dishes is definitely something I would recommend and the portion sizes are pretty generous.
The tater tots were my favourite of the small dishes. All of the dishes we selected were nice and I would be keen to try some of the other food on offer, particularly the burgers and pizzas which I saw served to other tables around Brewpoint.
The only issue that people may find is the location if they don't want to have a designated driver or pay for public transport, based just outside of the centre of Bedford, close to Bedford Modern, it may be inconvenient for some, particularly with such a good range of beer to enjoy while there. Personally we opted to get a Taxi from Bedford train station, which cost less than £6 and wasn't really an issue.
There is a good variation on the menu and food and beers are reasonably priced, bearing in mind the quality and quantity of what you are getting. It's definitely somewhere I would visit again and hope to go back soon to try more food from the menu and enjoy a drink in the beer garden.
I would highly recommend others to visit as it provides somewhere quite different to other locations around Bedford. It is the ideal place for a group of friends to visit and potentially spend a full afternoon at, or head to for some beers and food before a night out.
