Tears of the Kingdom has had no shortage of players becoming quasi-engineers in their quest to make incredible vehicles as developers intended, but it's likely the developers didn't anticipate players becoming actual craftsman of functional musical instruments.
Last Friday, Twitter user @maxotunes discovered that hitting stakes in the game with a laser causes them to produce a pitch, showing off a noise contraption that ends up sounding a bit like a wind chime.
The discovery opened a pandora's (music) box, and soon enough, players were able to create the equivalent of a kalimba that only plays "Megalovania." On Saturday, user @bran8bit showcased how attaching stakes together and adjusting how deep they are in the ground will alter the pitch they produce. He then arranged the stakes and a laser contraption such that the spiraling laser will produce the notes from the infamous Undertale song.
Though the "technology" is still primitive, players have been able to recreate several tunes in the game, including the "Great Fairy Fountain" theme and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."
At this point, it's only a matter of time until someone puts together a musical rube goldberg machine that spans Hyrule and plays the entirety of "Never Gonna Give You Up."
