Damar Hamlin isn't the only beloved member of the Buffalo Bills family working his way back from a serious health emergency this year.

In a recent interview with the Buffalo News, Bills longtime radio broadcaster John Murphy said that he isn't yet decided on if he'll return for the 2023 season after suffering a stroke during last season. Murphy's stroke took place near the end of the 2022 season and the first game he missed wound up being the fateful Monday Night Football game when Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field.

"I'm going to wait until late July before I decide whether to come back. Still some recovery to do," Murphy told the Buffalo News.

John Murphy has been working in sports broadcasting since the 1980s but became the full-time broadcaster on the Buffalo Bills radio network in 2003. He replaced the late-great Van Miller, who had previously been the voice of the Bills since their inception in 1960.

On top of his broadcast work, Murphy had a cameo as himself in the 2003 comedy film Bruce Almighty.

Murphy was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Association's Hall of Fame in 2019.

We wish John Murphy the best in his continued recovery.
