ESPN's SEC Network had quite the accidental welcome for Oklahoma on Wednesday.
The conference announced its football schedule for 2024, which will be the first season that the conference expands to 16 teams with the introduction of Texas and Oklahoma. While the schedules were being announced, SEC Network aired a special show to unveil the highly anticipated slate.
But when showing a graphic listing eight teams and their top nonconference opponents for '24, SEC Network goofed on Oklahoma's logo. Instead of using the Sooners' iconic interlocking "OU" logo, the network mistakenly depicted the logo for another SEC school: Ole Miss.
The network hasn't explained what happened yet, but it was quite the mistake on a day when Oklahoma was unofficially welcomed to the conference.
Coincidentally, Ole Miss is one of Oklahoma's road opponents in 2024. The Sooners' other away games include LSU, Auburn and Missouri. Oklahoma will face Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina at home. The Sooners also will play rival (and fellow new SEC member) Texas at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
